Looking back

This time of year always makes me look back and reflect on what has been and what will be.  I love this time of year because it feels full of the promise of a new year.  It feels as if anything is possible and I need that possibility.  We are fully thankful to close the door on last year and the roller coaster that it was.  It was marked by uncertainty and frustrations.  This new year holds an end to that mess of rank reduction, countless doctors visits, and "oh by the way" nightmares.

Its time to change focus and look back on that year as the time that our little man learned to walk, started to talk, and began to blossom in to what he will become.  Its amazing for me as a mom to look at where he is this year . . .

and where he was last year . . .

and in all of this nuttiness its nice to know that twenty years from now we will look back not at the craziness but at the joy that revolved around having a rambunctious toddler fill our lives.
